Data#118
The Menlo Park City School District board race, and a clearer description of East Palo Alto Measure O
San Mateo County gains the Menlo Park City School District board race, with Silicon Valley DSA's picks. East Palo Alto Measure O now says what the bond pays for. Silicon Valley DSA's Yes on Measure O is on hold, because its write-up describes the city's 2016 Measure O, a tax on rental income.
New
The area chips switch ballots instantly, keeping your place, filters and open contest
Picking the Bay Area or a county now redraws the list in place instead of loading a new page. Back and Forward return to where you were on each list.
New
The area picker lists counties only
The picker shows the Bay Area and one button per county, under a Counties label, so it takes fewer rows on a phone. City pages like San Jose are no longer in the picker; on a city page its county is shaded.
New
Races where every guide agrees now say Unanimous
The bar fills in that candidate's color instead of grey, and the line reads "Unanimous · N of N guides". Multi-seat races where every guide picked the same slate no longer say Split. Candidate colors now follow standing: the most-endorsed candidate is always the first color (blue), the next is pink, and so on, so a color can change if the lead changes.

There are 109 Alameda County contests plus Congress Districts 12 and 14 and Assembly Districts 18 and 20. Twenty-one existing guides, including the Sierra Club, SEIU 1021, East Bay DSA and Courage California, now count on Alameda contests. ACCE Action, APEN Action and East Bay Young Democrats also count on Contra Costa contests (Richmond Mayor, San Pablo council and Measure S, and WCCUSD Measure V). Alameda is in the Counties filter on the Bay Area list.
New
Area pages can show Bay Area guides for state races no local guide took a position on
Data
San Francisco Chronicle added a reason for Prop 1; endorsed No on Prop 4; and 2 more changes
New#59
Santa Clara County is on Bay Ballot, with a county page and a San Jose page
69 more Santa Clara County contests (59 local races and 10 measures) and 9 Congress, State Senate and Assembly districts, from 28 guides, 5 of them new (among them the Los Altos Town Crier and Silicon Valley DSA). Palo Alto and Mountain View keep their own pages. It also adds 2 guides' San Mateo County positions (the Silicon Valley Taxpayers Association and Silicon Valley DSA).

32 guides cover Contra Costa, 19 of them new, with 59 local contests plus Congress Districts 8 to 10 and Assembly Districts 11, 14, 15 and 16. Thirteen existing guides, including the Sierra Club, SEIU 1021 and Courage California, now count on Contra Costa contests, and The Mercury News guide now names the East Bay Times. Six of the new guides also cover Marin. Contra Costa is in the Counties filter on the Bay Area list.
New#57
Marin County is on Bay Ballot, with its own page at /2026-11/marin
14 Marin guides and 41 local contests, plus Congress District 2, State Senate District 2 and Assembly District 12. Five guides are new (the Marin Democrats and Republicans, the North Bay Labor Council, the League of Women Voters of Marin and Indivisible Marin), and nine others now count on Marin contests, among them the Marin Independent Journal's editorials under the Mercury News guide. The About page now names Marin County.
New#51
The About page tells the story behind Bay Ballot and explains how guides are found, collected and kept current
New#45
Contest pages have the same Filters as the ballot list, and a filter set on one carries to the other
A note like "3 guides hidden · Show all" says when filters hide guides on a contest, and contest pages now line up with the ballot list instead of being centered.
New#34
Palo Alto and Mountain View are on Bay Ballot, each with its own page
18 guides, 8 of them new, and the 14 Santa Clara County contests Palo Alto and Mountain View voters see, including the 6th District Court of Appeal.
New#32
A bar at the top of the ballot list shows which section you're in and lets you jump to any other (press g on desktop)
Fix#31
Contest, guide, About, and changelog pages are centered, at the same width as the ballot list
New#28
San Mateo County is on Bay Ballot, with its own page at /2026-11/san-mateo
14 San Mateo County guides and 66 local contests. Four of them (YIMBY Action, Greenbelt Alliance, Bay Rising Action and the Working Families Party) also count on San Francisco contests. A Counties filter on the Bay Area list hides a county's local contests.
Fix#24
Enter on the open contest moves into its details
New#23
The ballot is now a Bay Area list, and San Francisco has its own page
/2026-11 groups every contest by place. /2026-11/sf shows San Francisco's contests and counts only San Francisco guides. Old contest links still work.
Fix#22
Multi-seat races in search results name a single leader only when that candidate is ahead
New#19
Browse contests with the keyboard on desktop: ↑ and ↓ (or j and k), / to search, and ? for shortcuts
New#18
A changelog lists what's new on the site and in the data
New#17
Each contest page opens with a one-line summary of how the guides split
Search results show the same summary, for example "SF Prop B endorsements (Nov 2026): 16 of 28 guides say Yes".
New#13
Search engines can find every contest and guide page
New#13
Bay Ballot counts page views without cookies
It never records addresses or ZIP codes.
New#12
The footer links to Bay Ballot's source code on GitHub
Fix#10
The site says “endorsements” instead of “picks”
New#1
Bay Ballot launches: 36 San Francisco voter guides, 930 endorsements
